At the invitation of EMJM-EMLex, our Dieter Götz cohort students attended the EMLex colloquium, which was hosted at the Leibniz Institute for the German Language (IDS) in Mannheim, Germany.

The event, Interdisciplinary Lexicography, gave the students the opportunity to gain insight into some of the latest developments in lexicography, including technological and methodological aspects of digital lexicography, language didactics and learner's dictionaries, as well as linguistic change, norms and society.

On May 22, 2025, the Leibniz-Institut für Deutsche Sprache (IDS) in Mannheim hosted the EMLex Colloquium under the theme Interdisciplinary Lexicography. The event brought together scholars from around the world to discuss cutting-edge developments in digital lexicography, language didactics, and the societal role of dictionaries.

María José Domínguez Vázquez, the EMLex programme coordinator, and Luke Akinremi, the programme manager, were invited to participate as keynote speakers at the EMA-HERITAGE workshop on 27 May at the Politecnico di Milano, co-organised by EMA and the Marie Curie Alumni Association (India Chapter), and funded by EACEA.

On 16–17 May, Luke Akinremi attended the 19th General Assembly of the Erasmus Mundus Association (EMA) in Paris, held under the theme “Go Green: Connect, Innovate and Sustain.” He represented the EMJM EMLex programme both as an alumnus and as the current EMLex Programme Manager.

On the 24th of April, the Sulkhan-Saba Orbeliani Class, currently doing their mobility at the University of Minho in Braga, learned about and celebrated one of the most important historic events of modern Portuguese history, the Carnation Revolution (a Revolução dos Cravos, die Nelkenrevolution) that took place on the 25th of April 1974 in Portugal. This historic event that led to the collapse of a 40 year dictatorship paved the way to a democratic Portugal.

Vom 23.-24.4. hat Prof. Martina Nied Curcio für die Studierenden der Sukhan  Saba Orbeliani Kohorte einen Workshop zu Wörterbücher und Kultur gehalten. Wichtig war der interkulturelle Austausch und die Diskussion über Kulturspezifika. Dabei konnten die Studierenden auch selbst Wörterbucheinträge zum EMLex- Kulturwörterbuch ausarbeiten und somit ihre bisher theoretisch erworbenen Kenntnisse in der Lexikographie praktisch anwenden. Der Austausch war für alle sehr interessant und lehrreich.

Der Besuch von Sheila Gondar Tubío (Universität Leipzig) am Institut für galicische Sprache (ILG, USC) bot uns die Gelegenheit, institutionelle Beziehungen zu stärken und Erfahrungen auszutauschen. Gleichzeitig konnten wir das EMJM-EMLex-Programm und das ILG als eines seiner Praktikumszentren vorstellen.
