Three EMLex Students Successfully Complete Their Master's Programme

The EMLex community is pleased to announce that Sékou Bah, Ahmed Shaita, and Hervé-Stéphane M'Béa have successfully completed the European Master in Lexicography (EMLex).

A small graduation celebration was held at the iconic Place Stanislas in Nancy, marking the conclusion of their studies. The graduates presented master's theses on innovative topics at the intersection of lexicography, translation, artificial intelligence, and intercultural communication:

  • Sékou Bah explored AI-assisted translation of Fulfulde proverbs in digital lexicography through a multilingual contrastive study (German–English–French).
  • Hervé-Stéphane M'Béa examined false friends in German and French, focusing on the interface between lexicography and machine translation.
  • Ahmed Shaita developed the concept for an explanatory encyclopedic dictionary of culturally bound Islamic key terms for German-speaking converts.
